Halve the slices of bread. Melt butter and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Spread slices of bread with it. Wash lemon hot, grate dry and grate peel thinly. Whisk milk, eggs, 3 tablespoons sugar and lemon zest. Pour the apricots into a sieve and drain. Layer bread slices and apricots in a greased casserole dish. Pour egg milk over them and sprinkle with almonds
Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 45 minutes. Dust with icing sugar
