Let the dough thaw until the 1st dough sheet can be carefully loosened. In the meantime mix sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
Loosen all dough plates one after the other and cut out 1 star (7-8 cm Ø) from each plate. Heat the oil in a wide saucepan. (The correct temperature is reached when bubbles rise from a wooden stick held inside). Add approx. 3 stars to each hot oil and fry for a few seconds while turning. Lift out with a skimmer, let it drip off briefly on kitchen paper and turn it while still warm in the sugar mixture. Eat as fresh as possible!
