Ingredients

  • 260 g Flour
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Baking soda
  • 75 g chocolate chips
  • 2 TEASPOONS grated orange peel
  • 1 Egg
  • 120 g Crystal sugar
  • 80 ml Oil
  • 150 g Buttermilk
  • 100 ml Orange juice
  • 3 Oranges

Directions

    Peel the oranges and cut the pulp into pieces. Preheat the oven to 180°C, fill the muffin forms with paper cups or grease them.

    In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients, i.e. flour, baking powder, baking soda, orange peel and the chocolate pieces. In another bowl beat the egg and whisk lightly. Then add sugar, oil, buttermilk, orange juice and finally the orange pieces and mix briefly.

    Now fold in the dry ingredients until they are moist.

    Pour 3/4 of the dough into the muffin tray recesses and bake at 180°C on the middle shelf for 20-25 minutes. If you like, you can sprinkle the finished muffins with some cocoa powder.
