Soak rolls in cold water. Peel and finely chop the onion. Finely dice the dried tomatoes. Squeeze the bread roll. Knead bread roll, egg, pizza spice, diced tomatoes, onion and minced meat.
Season to taste with salt, paprika and pepper. Form 12 flat meatballs from the mince mixture. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the meatballs on each side for about 5 minutes at medium heat.
In the meantime cut the mozzarella into 12 slices. Wash the tomatoes and also cut them into 12 slices. Put the meatballs on a baking tray lined with baking paper and cover each with a slice of tomato and mozzarella.
Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 6-8 minutes. Remove from the oven, drizzle with some olive oil and sprinkle with thyme. Arrange on a plate garnished with salad leaves, basil and thyme.
