Wash lemon hot, grate dry and cut in half. Halve 1 half lengthwise and cut into 8 pieces. Use the rest of the lemon for other purposes. Wash the mint, shake dry and pluck the leaves from the stalks, except for a little to garnish.
Put lemon and mint in a glass and press down firmly. Pour brandy, syrup and ice cubes into the glass, stir thoroughly and decorate with mint.
