Mix flour with salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Add oil and approx. 200 ml lukewarm water and knead to a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the mixer. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until the dough has doubled.
Mix syrup with 8 tablespoons of water in a deep plate. Put sesame seeds in a second deep plate. Knead the dough once again briefly. Divide into 6 pieces and form balls. Prick a hole in the middle of each ball with your finger. Enlarge the hole to approx. 5 cm Ø by circular finger movements, so that curls are formed. Turn the balls first in syrup water, then in sesame.
Place 3 circles on each of two baking trays lined with baking paper. Cover and leave to rise for about 15 minutes. Bake one after the other in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 230 °C/circulating air: 210 °C/gas: see manufacturer) for 15-20 minutes. Let them cool down.
