Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the instructions on the packet. Remove 200 ml of pasta water. Drain noodles, quench and drain. Meanwhile peel onion and garlic and chop finely.
Wash the chillies and cut into rings. Wash and coarsely dice the tomatoes. Heat the oil in the pasta pot. Sauté garlic and onions in it, add tomatoes and chillies, sauté briefly, season with salt, pepper and paprika.
Deglaze with pasta water, bring to the boil and simmer for 8-10 minutes. In the meantime, wash the basil, shake it dry and put some leaves aside for garnishing. Roughly chop the remaining leaves. Mix the pasta and basil with the braised tomatoes, heat up again and season with salt, pepper and paprika.
Garnish the pasta with basil.
