Halve 2 limes and squeeze them. Peel and slice the ginger, wash the basil. Bring 1.5 litres of water, sugar, lime juice and ginger to the boil in a large pot, simmer for about 10 minutes. Add basil and let it cool down. Wash 1 lime, rub dry.
Cut lime into slices. Fill flavoured water and lime slices into bottles and chill. Drink within 2 days. (Lasts longer if you avoid the lime wedges! Otherwise water becomes bitter). Tastes especially good when chilled with ice cubes
